A great opening day it was! The day started with a short 40 minute ride to find good amounts of fish running across the bottom on the prowl when we arrived.
The first part of the morning was okay fishing with fish coming over the rail steady, but not a slaughter and would soon turn off to just a pick for a short while. Soon thereafter, it was non-stop drop and reel fishing with all large cod and very few markets and almost no throw-backs.
The worst part of the day was throwing back 10-15 pound cod when we were done with our limit of 80 fish.
We only have a couple of days left in April and still a few in May.
