Had a blast from the time we arrived. Got to the boat at 5Am and Junior and Sandro were juiced and ready to go.

Made a 15-20 mile run to where they wanted to fish and once we arrived it seemed like a lot of fish had broken up due to..pending storm or lunar cycle? Whatever… Once we arrived Junior looked around the whole area and when he saw the right spot, he would give us the “get ready” and put us on the fish. If you didn’t have a fish within the first few pulls, we would reel up and wait for the next drift. The wind and tide were from the East and the drift was very fast.

Leif had his limit by 11AM and Chad and I finished with (5 OR 6). Greg and Joe had a blast also. By 12:00 the wind was blowing 35+ and we started to head back. The ride home was nice with everything on the stern and by 1:30 we were back at the dock.

On top of the 30+ fish we caught we also caught a load of smaller fish that were released. We didn’t have the same ratio of the throw backs that we caught in Montauk over the winter. These fish overall were much larger than the cod that were S of BI.

We’re looking forward to our next trip on May 1st.
