561_220_bluefin_tunaOn the way home from completeing our giant fishing season in Cape Cod, crossing the bank in the dark just before dawn, Gary and I smelled the strong aroma of a feed.  There was still tuna on the bank we asked each other???  We quickly fired two baits out and 15 minutes later the rod laps over and line starts going out.  We could not believe it that we were hooked up in December.

A short while later we had our first of two small tuna that morning that went about 200 plus pounds.  The second one was hooked and released shortly after the first.  Fish were all over the machine and slicks were in every direction.  We would have stayed longer had the wind not picked up to 35+ knots, but with the big new boat it got us home in comfort.   Heading back out when the wind lets go…
